Still Cycling Season in SoCal

While mom was outside using her new Christmas snow blower and Sam was posing in front of the van window in the snow, I joined with about 60 other cyclists for the Christmas food drive ride sponsored by Rock N Road Cyclery here in beautiful Irvine. Three cans of food was the entry ticket into the ride. Corte Haggard (blue/gold Norda's kit) and Mark Facer (dark blue Norda's/Quiksliver kit) also joined in for an easy paced 35 mile ride through Santiago Canyon. As I was a saying hello to some friends before the ride, I heard someone call my name. It turns out it was Chris Bradley, one of the original Norda's Board Basement employees. Chris moved to Orange County eight years ago and recently took up road riding. He is friends with the local Specialized rep and decided to join him for the ride. Small World.

I'm in the red vest in front of the blue shade pop-up. Corte is in blue to my left and Mark is behind Corte. Matt Ford, owner, is in white to my right. Chris is just left of center in the red jacket.

  1. Sounds like a worthy cause and a good ride, even though Chris Bradley was there, too. Does he still have the tattoo on his leg? Norda hopes he wasn't having a ham sandwich for lunch - he was a vegitatian when he left Logan. See you later this week - or do you plan to spent the first few days in Midway with the grandkids?
