"You Really Should Be More Careful" 2.5 Fun Run

Our family may just be the Kookiest Kool Family out there...  How great it is that so many could join together for another Emmett Family Fun Run.  Each one just gets better.  We had at least 24 running/jogging/walking/biking enjoying each other on a record hot August afternoon and over 40 family members enjoying the post race festivities.  As Bob (and his 3rd cracked/broken clavicle) reminded us this week and many of this wonderful family who have dealt with health issues over the last year, we really ALL should be more careful.  I want to thank everyone from Grandma Norda, and hosting the post race dinner, down to the 2 month old Maggie (not to exclude Doug) for joining in and wishing me well. It worked!

The Starting Expo. Jim and Camilla. The Start

Start line Expo. Custom Race Tattoos. Hydration was Key!

Uncle Jake and Sam. The Illinois Emmett's. A "fast" start

The Cripple's Kids. Start line, Race Pace signs. Carly. Buddy Hackett

The Finish.  Traffic Control.  Island Market Aid Station.

thank you everyone.... for your happiness, prayers and love. tomE

Greyson Palmer

Born via C-section at 7:20ish a.m., March 25, 2013.  19.5 inches long and 7.1 pounds.  Blood sugar was a bit low after expending all those carbs trying to get into position so he's in NICU but otherwise doing fine.  Mom and Dad are also well.  Congratulations to Adrienne and Nick on Greyson's arrival.

Kitzbühel, Austria

Kitzbühel, Austria (I might have photo bombed my German colleague's panorama)

Octal, Yup, count 'em. 8 bodies unloading

Volcano Pants first visit to Austria

Kitzbuhel is a big ski area

the legendary Hahnenkamm downhill, view of final section from below

Hahnenkamm final section. Can't imagine hitting this at 80 mph on solid ice with rubber legs

Happy Birthday Max!

Max at his game on Saturday.  His team won by TWO points, they are still undefeated.  They played an all girls team who really gave them a run for their money.  Notice in one of the pictures that Max (the shortest on the team) is paired up with an opposing player (one of the tallest on her team) but that doesn't stop him from breaking away!
(side note: some of the pictures are from last week's game where he is in white)

Elle has her sucker for most of the game and then decides she might like the already been chewed gum under the bleachers.

Jack watching Max and counting down the years until he gets to play.

Savannah watching intently...

....and then being entertained by cousin Merrick's cheeks!

After the game it was dinner at Olive Garden and then back home for presents, cake, and ice cream!  Max was very generous with his presents, letting his younger brother and cousin help him open them...and then play with them.

Elle must have not gotten her way.

Savannah really wants to join in on all the fun!

And the birthday night would not be complete without a cake to the face.  A new Falslev birthday tradition!

Happy 7th Birthday Max!
