Ben & Courtney Wedding Registry

Hi everyone -

I have been talking to Courtney about doing a family bridal shower, but with all she has going on & the travel it would take to get to Logan (where we would have the largest turnout), we decided it might not be the best option & are going to do an online wedding shower through Pampered Chef. I am going to open an actual party on Friday & it will go for a week - watch for it in your email or let me know if you don't get one. You can also go to http://www.pamperedchef.com & click on the wedding registry link at the top right hand side of the page. Search for Ben Emmett or Courtney Call & take a look at their registry that way.

On a side note, if you are planning getting them something from this registry, I would really appreciate it as well! I haven't been doing many parties since Bruce has been born & so I am lacking some of the requirements that it takes to stay "active" as a Pampered Chef consultant. If I go inactive, Ben & Courtney's registry will go to someone else :( I have until the 31st of this month to meet some of the goals that are set in place for active consultants. So any purchases made through their registry by January 31st will really help me out by letting me still be the consultant over their registry, plus get them lots of cool stuff for their wedding.

Courtney hasn't had a chance to get on the registry & choose items, so the products on the website are ones that I chose, just a few of my favorites. If you have something that is a favorite of yours, I am sure she would love it - all the stuff is pretty great! Thanks! Go to http://www.pamperedchef.com & find the wedding registry link on the upper right hand side. Ben & Courtney both hate to even register & ask for people to give them gifts (hello, that's one of the best parts of getting married! - just kidding) but I know they will appreciate any help that is given to them! Thanks again!

Early Morning Visitors in Aurora

Phone rings...... no answer
Phone rings again...... no answer
Knock on the door....... no answer (Elders thinking - "no one visits us in the morning, it must be for the Orsers")
Knock on the door again. "You must be Elder Stephenson, Is Elder Emmett here?" "Elder Emmett, can I introduce you to my wife, Jackie?"

Brian and Jackie arrived in Denver late last Wednesday night and before heading across the Great Plains paid a surprise visit to Elder Mikey on Thursday morning. Brian was not sure if there was a rule against this so he went to great pains to not ask. You'll have to wait for more details on this visit and perhaps an accurate version of the visit in either Elder Emmett's weekly letter or check Brian's blog for more details on their epic journey from Midway to Miami - that included a stop in Charleston, IL. Brian and Jackie pulled into Miami just a few hours ago - now the fun and the work begin.

"How's Your Bill"

He is doing GREAT today because it is his birthday and he spent the day skiing!  Although he said he didn't need a birthday blog, I decided to go ahead and do one anyway.  You don't really "need" a birthday blog but I think we all secretly hope for one on our birthdays!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD-- WE LOVE YOU!

Happy Birthday to YPR

Happy 57th Birthday!

Thanks to Mac, Polly has had this fun dollhouse for awhile. She never really got into it until today. It was downstairs & kept her busy while I did laundry & then she begged to bring it upstairs. It kept her busy for over an hour this morning! It's been fun to watch her set up the people to watch TV, get ready for bed, eat dinner or get in the car to "go to work."
It's funny to remember just a year ago that this is how she played with it..
.
Oh, & here is Bruce sporting his EIU t-shirt. Had I known it was almost too small I would have busted it out a little sooner. Maybe it will stretch.

One more time I have to say we had a great Christmas! I wish Bruce wouldn't have been sick & could have been a little more entertaining, but hopefully next time. I'm glad we got to see you all & those that we missed...well, we missed you! We noticed Jim made DVD's from all of Grandpa's old family video's & decided to get in on the action. We borrowed the burner & have made many DVD's of Lorin's mission tapes, Lorin's college Spring Break Road Trip & family video's from January 2006 - New Years Day 2009. Thanks Jim! Next up are some old home video's on VHS from way-back-when in 1985.

Later Skaters

Brian and Jackie are finally on their way to Florida. They left the Dairy Keen in Heber shortly after lunch. There was a period where we weren't sure they would even make it back to Midway from Provo, let alone get out of the state. Brian's California racing tires didn't agree with all the snow in Provo Canyon but after a couple attempts over two days they made it, barely. Next stops CO, IL, KY.The happy couple in front of the car after all the bags had been loaded and strapped.
While Brian burned last minute mixes like "guilty pleasures" (Backstreet and NSYNC) and "If I have to" (country) . . . **notice the eye chart over Brian's head.
Jackie was looking for a spot for the spice rack that Brian took out and "accidentally" forgot to put back.
Floor to ceiling with stuff and more stuff stashed at places from Portland to Provo to Alpine to Midway.

Happy New Year to all!

Many thanks to Molly for suggesting we have a picture taken on chair #59 from Beaver Mountain that we were given last year and also to the whole fam damily for making the Holidays such a success. We are always grateful to have you make the trip to the Twin Pine Ranch for Christmas and all that goes with the visit. It makes rambling around in this big house the rest of the year worth while to have room for the family whenever you can make it to Logan. Our hope is to be around for at least a few more highlights such as two more great-grandchildren and two more marriages next year plus whatever else comes along.

Thanks again for being such a great family and all you do for us. Norda is still in seventh heaven whenever she gets to go out and use the new snowblower.
