Visitors from Mapleton

Jim and Mary are spending a few days in the O.C. and stopped by tonight to visit and join us for dinner. Annie's sister Pam, and Gary are also in town and came along to make it a real party. Poor Jim is still recovering from his rotator cuff surgery so he can't play golf with his buddies. Not sure if he's scrap booking with his spare time.

Fotheringham Family Photos

We got some family pictures taken last Friday downtown. We don't have all of them back yet, but there are a few shown on our photographers blog at http://andeesphotos.blogspot.com/
We love the ones of the kids especially!

I also wanted to say thanks to everyone who was able to visit Ben & Courtney's Pampered Chef Registry & order something. It really helped me out for the month of January & got them some really cool stuff for their wedding! The registry will stay open through the end of April after the wedding, so if you didn't get a chance to go look there is still plenty of time! Click here for the link & search for Ben Emmett or Courtney Call under the wedding registries. Thanks again!

Jack. Corduroy. Corduroy. Jack.

He might not quite be ready to turn and burn with Will but it's a start. Here is actual footage of Jack's first run. At first he wasn't so sure but after 30 seconds he decides it's time to get his tuck on! Then he wanted to be carried. More words, photos, and videos at emmettdoggies.

Can You Say Road Trip?

Guess what Erin got today after Illinois' 9 month waiting period?

We'll see if her driving record improves upon those of her older siblings. What worries me is that one of her favorite musical groups, The Killers (fronted by Mormon-raised, Brandon Flowers), have a song on their latest CD titled "Joy Ride". Yikes!

What Happens in Vegas...

.... sure doesn't need to happen again!!! The soccer and events were alright but it was confirmed lady luck was not on my side again.

We didn't get a picture of the keys locked in the door while the engine was running the day before we got the flat on I215 between the soccer games but it was an eventful day too.

"Not sure but I think the jack goes some place under here..."

Alex enjoyed a couple nights of swimming even though it was kinda cool, high 40's.

Sam played awesome with her U17 team. I think the one girl/guy was a bit older/bigger. Sam's U16 team took 2nd place without her playing but she got a medal for their efforts.
McKinley stayed home to take care of Gandma Nyman and did a few movies and shopping. Mac also went skiing with Katie and Bill for Presidents day.

Skiing Will

For celebration of Presidents Day, the Springville Emmetts went skiing at Solitude. It was four year old Will's first time on skis. He is a natural. I started out skiing backwards in front of him, but quickly realized that he could do it on his own. He mastered pizza and french fires right off. I spent all day tailing him down the hill. At the bottom he always wanted to go up again. By the end of the day (about 12 runs on Main Street) he was even turning with ease. At one point Sarah and Joel came over to join us. What a delight watching three kids heading down hill and having fun together. Some days life is very good.

A Belated Birthday Greeting to Lorie

Thanks to Allison and Tyler for inviting all the Cache Valley family over yesterday for cupcakes and Norda's brownies to help celebrate Lorie's birthday. We all enjoyed rocking the house with Rock Star (Lorie does a mean Christie McVie on Fleetwood Mac songs) but the best part is always the love from the grandsons. Lorie is still looking good.

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary (yesterday) Mom & Dad!

We love you & hope you celebrated somehow (when I called my mom she was preparing her seminary lesson & my dad was out at the church)!

I think that I used these same pictures last time I did a blog for your anniversary - so I refuse to do another one next year unless there is a new picture to use! (I think I was a day late with last years post, too)

(I'm sure you will get right on it!)

Happy Birthday Max Man

Happy 3rd Birthday Max!
Yesterday we celebrated his Birthday with family after Jack's Blessing.  I'm not sure what is in store for today, but I think I heard something about Bowling!  I can't believe this little guy is already 3 years old.

Adrienne and I volunteered to make Max a Birthday Cake.
It turned out pretty cute, except for my lettering!

Wii Love Winter Too

We may not be able to hit the slopes of Beaver Mountain this winter but that hasn't stopped our skiing fun. We recently got a Wii with a Wii Fit so I've been enjoying the skiing games. Just look how much fun I'm having on the picture below.
Getting the snow off my ski

Watch out Sam, I'll be back next winter

I've also been picking a few new skills, like ski jumping

Big time air right there, move over Alex

The Miami Emmetts
We miss all of you guys out here, so much that we even created "mii" characters of the Midway Emmett's (minus Lily).

We have been able to get off the slopes and make our way to the temple in Orlando

Happy Birthday Polly!

Happy 3rd birthday Polly! I can't believe we have a 3 year old!

We have had a great day so far. We had tickets to go to the Draper Temple Open house for 8:40 but went at 11 since both kids actually slept in! Polly was so good & loved the bus ride as they shuttled us up to the temple from a nearby church. It was really fun, both kids were well behaved & quiet. After the tour we got some cookies (really soft & really yum) & then headed to Wal.Mart to get a few things & let Polly get a birthday Happy Meal.

The rest of the day consisted of well-checks at the doctor, shots for Bruce (what a champ!) & then opening presents at home. It was hard to get Polly to sit still for a good picture, so the only ones I have are of her & her new Barbie. I wasn't sure if she would be old enough to like it but she has been having fun with it all day. I think she likes that it has wings & she can make it fly. We are having a birthday party with her cousins on Friday but I wanted to do a birthday blog for her. We sure love Polly, the past three years have gone by quickly - but at the same time it seems like she has been around for longer than that.

Thank you Grandma & Grandpa Emmett for Polly's birthday card & birthday money! We were at The Disney Store yesterday & Polly REALLY wanted this WALL-E stuffed "robot," so I told her she had to use her own money. She had $10 in birthday money from her Great Emmett & Great Fotheringham Grandparents so she stood in line & paid for it all by herself. She even gave me her change! What a great girl!

Polly & WALL-E

We love you Polly & could write all day long about why we love you & how wonderful you are! You are a great big sister & we are happy you are part of our family!

Love, Mom & Dad
