90 Years Ago The Guns Fell Silent

William S Fife in WWI uniform - likely taken prior to his departure to serve in France

Grandpa Fife in 1968 recovering from the epic buffalo skirmish at Thermopolis, WY

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.*

* 4th verse of Laurence Binyon's 'For the Fallen'

  1. What a beautiful tribute for a great man! Reading ther verse brought literal tears to our eyes. It is too bad some of his descendents didn't have the pleasure of knowing what a great guy he was - it looks like it will be the obligation of those of us who spent some one-on-one time with him to keep his memoty alive. Thanks again, Bob.
