No one really liked the sun in their eyes, but only Bobby voiced a protest.

John did double support duty. He attended Beth's brother Kurt's graduation in the morning and came back to support Brian's Business School graduation at 5PM.

We are proud of all our college grads. Brian joins Jackie, Beth and John as BYU alums and Kristin who represents the family tradition of USU grads.

Bobby's First Visit

I don't think I've ever been more excited for a visit from Jackie and Brian - and I think I know why.... "Little" Bobby is a beautiful baby. Handsome Rob he is. We are so excited to have him come to visit just 2+ weeks after his birth. Mom and Dad are very proud of their boy, and they should be. He is a happy baby who likes to sleep.

Michael's First Triathlon

It's been over a month, but I finally got around to uploading some photos of Michael's first Triathlon - The Icebreaker. He relied on swimming he had done in Arizona in January, a couple of times on the bike and several semi-long runs to whip himself into shape. Well Done!

Michael and our good friend Casey Robles post race. I didn't see the official results, but I'm pretty sure Casey finished First overall. He's an incredible athlete. Casey is representing us at the St George Ironman next weekend. Go Casey! We plan to be there cheering him on.

Not a bad way to start a new sport. 2nd in his age group.

I am not pregnant I am not getting married.... yet, but I did accept a new position as Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Engineering at Fusion-io.  Looks like turning 29 in two weeks won't be as horrible as I thought.

Introducing Little Bobby Emmett

We got a cute, big baby boy out here in Portland. He was born 9lbs 12oz, 23 1/4 inches long. I have no idea how he fit inside Jackie's belly. He's not very fussy, sleeps a lot, and is adorable so we are not complaining out here. We'll be in Utah in a week and a half so we're excited to see most of you guys!

Goodby, 18th Ward

I guess I have never scanned any of the pictures of the 18th Ward Chapel that I have taken so this is the only thing I could find. Starting tomorrow we will be back attending the 10th Ward as a result of a meeting held two weeks ago when the Stake Presidency announced they were discontinuing the 18th Ward and assigning the previous members to the 5th, 10th, and 29th Wards. Once a Ward has been discontinued the rule is that the name can't be re-ued so there will never be another 18th Ward in Logan. A few people are rather upset but we decided we would roll with the punches, be thankful for the 37 years we have had in the 18th Ward, and do what we have been told. Wish us luck.

On another note, April 20th is fast approaching so start thinking about your Family Letters. We are still trying to figure a way to send them easier by e-mail - maybe with Bob's help we might succeed.

The 4 epidural injections that I had last Monday have helped quite a bit so I just keep plugging along. Unfortunately, that doesnt include helping Norda with the yard work or house cleaning. Maybe later.

Robert Hal Emmett has arrived

Brian called shortly after 7 AM to let us know of the safe arrival of a healthy baby boy - Robert Hal Emmett, named after his two grandpas. All 9 pounds 12 ounces of him. With tears in my eyes I'm saying, "Way To Go JACKIE!" Keep an eye on Brian and Jackie's blog for updates and photos.
