Emmett's & Ethel's

Molly & I met in Lehi for lunch today & found the new location of Emmett's Made Fresh, now known as Emmett's & Ethel's. I don't know if any of you have stopped by since it has moved, but I thought it went out of business! I wrote a much longer post on my Fotheringham Family blog if you are interested in all the specifics :) Also, if you need an invite to the blog, let me know!

Polly is wearing her Ariel crown (part of her Halloween costume) that Molly got for her on sale at the Disney Store...which was the reason behind meeting up for lunch in he first place (driving down to Lehi for a crown? Yep. So what?). The "sale" price on the crown, the chance to eat lunch with Molly & the discovery of the new location of the restaurant all made it worth the drive!

Joel in Jerusalem

Today while watching a conference session on the computer (we also attended Sacrament meeting and then watched another conference session in the forum with all the branch members), Joel make a Lego model of Jerusalem. The old city is on the left--complete with four gates, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Dome of the Rock and other monuments-- and the Mount of Olives with its three towers on the right. We only brought part of our lego supply--if we had them all the model would have been even more authentic.
Joel and Sarah had a week long vacation for Succot. Each day we tried to go and do someting fun. One day we ended up on Ben Yehuda street--a nice street plaza, where the three kids enjoyed a Burger King happy meal (twice the cost of what it would be in the US) in a succa out in front of the restaurant.

On Tuesday Joel will turn 9. He is a great kid and we are so happy he is part of our family.

Autumnal running and Bullwinkle sighting

Last week that Isom boy and I set out from Tony Grove to Franklin Basin to gather up the flagging we had put up the previous week for the Bear 100. A bit of autumn, a bit of winter, and a bunch of pretty.

Looking back up White Pine Canyon toward Gog (or is it Magog? I'm never sure).

For General Conference weekend, Lorie and I did our now annual Jackson Hole trip. And yes, Elder Holland's address was outstanding

As usual, the weather was sketchy, but the views were magnificent.

One of the restored barns on Mormon Row.

On our way home, we saw Bullwinkle, Cowwinkle, and baby Calfwinkle settled in, waiting for the afternoon session of conference.

Michael and Tashina

Last Thursday, Michael flew in from Hawaii to spend conference weekend with his family and a pretty young lady named Tashina Etter. Michael has been dating Tashina since July . Tashina was also in town, having just returned from a two week trip to Hawaii to hang out with Michael. It was fun to have grandma and grandpa Emmett drive down to Highland just to meet Tashina.

still cute

could they be any cutier?

A small party at our house last night. Michael and Tashina revealed all about their courtship.

A crowd of friends, family and former mission companions thoroughly enjoyed hearing about Michael's persistance in pursuing the beautiful returned missionary and Stanford graduate.

Tashina getting better acquainted with Lily and her love of stickers at Jack's birthday party today.

Fall colors of the Alpine Loop

Last Sunday afternoon, Brian, Jackie, Annie and I took a scenic drive up Alpine Loop to Cascade Springs - duplicating the bicycle ride I had done a day earlier with John. What a beautiful ride!

HAPPY 17th B-DAY SAM

You're the best.... Thanks for always sharing your great smile and laugh!!!

It's a Day for Birthdays!

Today is a popular day for Birthday's! Happy Birthday to Adrienne, Adam, and Sam!
Adrienne is turning the big 30 today! She doesn't look a day over 20, so I don't think she has anything to worry about :) I believe they are spending her birthday in Park City!

Can you spot both of the birthday girls?
