Quote
The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation. Extended families should lend support when needed. ~A Proclamation to the World
I am so grateful for this family and can't wait to see everyone this week! Safe travels to all! ~k

Jackson Hole Reverie
For all those needing a mid-summer Jackson Hole fix, here are a few photos that might help:
Lots of snowmelt coming down this year.
A plethora of Wyoming's state flower.
The next day we canoe into Leigh Lake for some relaxation.
A man, a lake, and a Dr. Pepper . . .
More storms moving in . . .
The following day it's a scenic float down the Snake . . .
. . . under the watchful eye of a bald eagle.
"Maybe if I keep my nose under water, they won't notice me."
We end the day with a beautiful hike to Phelps Lake. This was a serendipidous find as we had no idea that when Laurance Rockefeller donated the old family ranch to the park, it allowed for the creation of some wonderful trails up to the area around the lake where the ranch used to be. All buildings have been removed and there's nothing left to indicate that there had been a ranch there.

Elder Mikey sings!
Elder Mike E mailed his camera memory card home this week. Tucked in amongst the 300+ photos were a a few videos. Here he is practicing a hymn with two other Elders. After hearing him sing at his farewell, this doesn't surprise me, but still, I'm 'amazed'!!

Camilla's Birthday at "Color me Mine" ("whatever that is?") Does she look like a teenager?
Playing with "MY" birthday gift -- "Rockband". Camilla has learned from her sisters to give her dad the gift she really wants.

Rotary Family Picnic plus swimming 7-10-08
Part of the family had a great time at the Rotary Family Picnic yesterday at the Logan Aquatic Center. I apologize for not having pictures of all who were there while we were able to stay but I wasn't able to get everyone in front of the camera for one reason or another. So far we have not hads any reports of any drownings or other natural disasters so I assume a good time was had by all.
